Ray Anthony Jackson was born May 22, 1962 in Memphis, TN to Nathaniel Trice and Earnestine Jackson Davis. He was preceded in death by both parents. Ray transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Veterans Memorial in Memphis, TN.
Ray attended Northside High School in Memphis, TN. He was a member of the graduating class of 1981. Ray was an energetic and outgoing young man. He enjoyed marching in the band and playing the drums. Upon graduating from high school, he joined the United States Army Corp. He was a member of Holiness Tabernacle Outreach Church of the Nazarene under the leadership of his brother, Bishop McArthur Jackson. He loved participating in the praise and worship service. Ray expressed and reaffirmed his salvation in Christ with his brother before transitioning to be with his Heavenly Father.
He leaves to cherish his memories; life partner, Delores Covington, two biological children, Raylisha Jackson and Steven Jackson, three sisters, Angela (Jeffery) Thomas, Barbara (Leon) Douglass, Tammy (Calvert) Frazier, two brothers, McArthur (Millie) Jackson and Sylvester Davis, one aunt Mrs. Ida Chism and one uncle, Mr. J.B. Jackson, five stepchildren, Aisshalott Covington, Loresa Covington, Keosha Covington, Ricole (Darnesha) Jones, Williams (Charlaude) Covington, and a very special grandson, Jeremiah Covington. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
